Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Wireless ATM has been received much attention to provide wireless multimedia communication. In this paper, we focus on the available bit rate (ABR) transmission which is classified as one of the ATM service categories. A novel flow control scheme is proposed to resolve critical problems when ABR transmission is applied to the wireless communication, such as the mutual interference caused by altering the transmission rate, and the cell loss due to the erroneous channel. Although the flow control process has additional parameters compared with the wired network, it can allocate an appropriate bandwidth to each user without the mutual interference, and improve the throughput performance with the stable flow control.
