A Study on the Capacity of ATM Wireless Access System

Abstract(in English) ATM Wireless Access System is now under development, which is expected to realize high speed wireless access to ATM networks. In this system, high spectrum efficiency is required since the bandwidth is not sufficient. Sector antennas are considered to be effective to achieve good spectrum efficiency performance. In this paper, we investigate the effect of sector antennas under various simple conditions. Moreover, we estimate the capacity of an actual service system model. It is shown that the capacity increases by using sector antennas.
