Rms Phase Jitter of Decision Feedback Carrier Recovery Loop for QPSK

Abstract(in English) Phase jitter of the recovered carrier in the decision feedback carrier recovery loop is analyzed theoretically for QPSK signals with arbitrary modulation waveforms. Band-limited gaussian noise as a disturbance is considered. The statistic characteristics of the error signal is analyzed and a general representation of the rms phase jitter is derived. The result clarifies that the phase jitter is comprised of three components; two intersymbol interference terms and a noise term. Furthermore, the effects of intersymbol interference and noise on the rms phase jitter is investigated through calculations for the case of a rolloff band-limited QPSK signal transmission.
