Field Experiments for Narrow Band Digital Communications

Abstract(in English) This paper gives the field experimental results on narrow band digital communication system with 9.6kbps transmission/6.25kHz spacing, which is planned to improve the spectrum efficiency for the mobile communications. Properties against fading, which are of interest, for the narrow band transmission, were evaluated in urban and hilly areas having different propagation circumstances. The advantage of narrow band digital communications, that is, the improvement of BER performance against delay spread due to a slow transmission rate is observed.
