Abstract(in English) To meet increasing demands for constructing international intranets or international remote accesses, VLAN technology on international ATM networks is very important. This paper describes evaluation results of NTT's mobile VLAN service, 'Logical Office' service on an ATM network between U.S.and Japan, as a part of 'Multimedia Application Project', which was carriedout by AT&T, KDD, and NTT. Logical Office service could provide good enough performance for commercial application software, though international characteristic problems, e.g. throughput limitation caused by TCP window size, or performance limitations, caused by user's protocol (AppleTalk, NetBEUI, etc.) have been found out.
