Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have proposed time-multiplexed pilot symbol-assisted channel estimation scheme using weighted multi-slot averaging (WMSA) in order to accurately estimate the fading channels for DS-CDMA mobile radio. In this paper, we evaluated the bit error rate performance using fast closed loop transmit power control (TPC) based on measured signal-to-interference plus noise ratio (SINR). It is demonstrated by computer simulations that the required signal energy per bit-to-background noise power spectrum density ratio (Eb/N0) using the proposed WMSA channel estimation can be reduced by about 0.8 dB compared to that using simple linear interpolation. The BER performance achievable by the time multiplexed pilot symbols based channel estimation is also compared with that of the parallel pilot channel based channel estimation.
