Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, the international standards of cryptographic algorithms such as block ciphers, are discussed in ISO18033 in place of ISO9979, which is the existing registration system. Many block ciphers are proposed by many countries of the world for an international standard algorithm, and are discussed. In this paper, we discuss a 128-bit block cipher Xenon, which is proposed to ISO18033-3 by Korea. Concretely, we analyzed the security of Xenon against linear cryptanalysis. As a result, we show that there are linear approximate paths with high linear probability 2^<-20> and that 2-bits information about the expansion keys of Xenon can be estimated by linear cryptanalysis.
