Abstract(in English) | In this papaer, a quick BER evaluation method for a trellis-coded modulation (TCM) scheme over a Rayleigh channel by using importance sampling (IS) is proposed. An ideal symbol interleaver/deinterleaver is assumed to apply the error event simulation method easily. The simulation probability density function (p.d.f.) for AWGN and Rayleigh fading is separately designed. The mean translation method is applied for simulation p.d.f. for AWGN. As the simulation p.d.f. for Rayleigh fading, Rayleigh distribution that variance is less than that of the original p.d.f is used. The simulation time using IS is 1/240 of that using ordinary Monte-Carlo simulation method at BER=10^<-6>. |
