Abstract(in English) Recently, a turbo code has been studied actively for digital magnetic recording systems because of its error correction performance near Shannon limit. This paper proposes and investigates a method of joint decoding for combined system between a partial response channel and a turbo code for the purpose of high density magnetic recording. Moreover, we also propose an algorithm for the reducing calculation complexity in iterative decoder considering a log likelihood ratio. Simulation results illustrate improvement BER performance and amount of calculation which the proposed method obtain.
