Constructing Algebraic-Geometry codes with high degree places

Abstract(in English) New constructions of algebraic-geometry codes which use places of arbitrary degree have been proposed by T. Kaida and independently by C. Xing. In this note we consider Kaida's construction, and show that a code with places of lower degree of some function field has greater designed minimum distance. And considering relationship between genus and the number of places, we show that the good choice of function field depends on the dimension of the code. Then we present examples of codes which have better parameters than BCH codes and conventional algebraic-geometry codes.
