| 抄録(和) | 筆者らは7月のISECおよび8月のCHES2000においてPower analysis attacksとTiming attacksに対する耐タンパー性, およびベキ乗剰余演算2回を同時処理可能という特徴を持つベキ乗剰余演算コプロセッサを提案したが, 更なる低消費電力化と耐タンパー性の定量的評価という課題が残されていた.本稿では、クロック制御等による低消費電力化とその評価, および耐タンパー性の定量的評価について検討した.これらの評価結果より低消費電力化と耐タンパー性の両立は困難であることが明らかとなった.そこで, 演算対象値に依存して低消費電力化の程度と耐タンパー性の強度を自動的に切替えることにより, 必要な耐タンパー性を確保しつつ消費電力を削減する方法を提案する. |
| 抄録(英) | We proposed a modular exponentiation coprocessor in CHES2000. The coprocessor is resitant against power analysis attacks and timing attacks and calculates double modular exponentiations simultaneously. It is necessary to reduce the power consumption and quantify the tamper resistance. In this paper, we reduce the power consumption of this coprocessor by using a clock control technique. After the trade-off relationships between the power consumption and the tamper resistance has shown, we propose a new method that switches the power consumption level and the tamper resistant level according to calculation parameters. |
