Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a new individual identification system that is applicable to the contemporary system like an immigration formality as a novel application of the PC / SS scheme. The proposed system embeds cardholder-related information that forms a watermark generated by the modulating manner of the PC / SS scheme into cardholder's portrait printed on the card using a simple watermarking scheme also proposed in this paper. Experimental results show htat the proposed system extracts embedded information correctly as its fundamental performance. Embedded information is extracted correctly against image enlargement with scaling factor 1.1 and 1.2.
