Abstract(in English) Severe packet loss can occur in wireless packet communication because of multipath fading. Received images can be damaged on the image data transmission under those environments. A particular image coding and packetization can be combined to provide graceful degradation against burst packet loss. The embedded zerotree coding of wavelet coefficients (EZW) is used to compress image data, and encoded data will be re-ordered for making packets. Furthermore, repetitive transmission of priority data packets is implemented. Simulation results show that sufficient PSNR in the received image is guaranteed in spite of burst packet loss.
