| Abstract(in English) | In most fingerprinting schemes for digital data proposed so far, only merchant makes a complete image with fingerprint. A potential problem with such a scheme is that when an illegal copy of digital data with an embedded fingerprint is found on the network, nobody can prove if the copy is copy of image not stored in the merchant but sent to the buyer. Because the copy may be copy of image stolen by cracker from the merchant's computer. Consequently, legal buyer might be considered illegal. To solve this problem, we propose an interactive protocol for image fingerprinting. In this protocol, a buyer takes part in constructing a fingerprint to be embedded into an image, so that even if the merchant's computer is cracked, nobody can get entire image with fingerprint. This protocol can be applied to other kind of digital data (e.g. movie, audio), too. |
