Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A simple but secure personal authentication method, named declare-next authentication method is proposed. The method uses simple storage devices such as magnetic cards and floppy disks to establish robustness against network attacks and faults of users. One of the originality of the method is that, by using techniques of secret sharing scheme, a user's password is divided into two pieces, one of which is stored in the user's card and the other is kept in the user's mind. The original password is computable if and only if both of the card and the user are presented. We give definition of the method, and describe applications of it.
