Scheme of Visual Secret Sharing as Digital Watermark

Abstract(in English) A digital watermark scheme for image data is proposed. A digital watermark is a technique to prevent illegal redistributions of copyrighted digital data. Even if a illegal copy of the digital data is produced, we can specify the dishonest user who redistributed that data. The method proposed in this report does not spoil the quality of the digital image, and is robust against attacks by a dishonest user. In former researches, a large database was required to record the relation between watermarks and users. In our method, such a database is not necessary since the relation is embedded in the distributed image safely by using the technique of visual secret sharing.
