Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical Code-Division Multiple-Access(OCDMA) have been given an increasing interest as an asynchronous multiple-access scheme with no waiting time. M-ary PPM/CDMA system is superior to OOK/CDMA system if the power efficiency and the bit error rate rather than the througput are the constraining factors. This paper proposes M-ary PPM/CDMA combined with Multibits/Sequence-Period in which multibits data are mapped into a shifted version of the OOK/CDMA sequence to improve the throughput efficiency. We derive the performance of the proposed system. Numerical results show that the proposed system achives (log_2MF)/(log_2M)times higher throughput, keeping advantages of the power efficiency and low bit error rate.
