Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes and investigates a method of joint decoding for both partial response(PR)system and Reed-Muller(RM)code for the purpose of high density magnetic recording. Both PR system RM and code are represented with trellis diagrams to improve decoding performance and to reduce decoding complexity. Moreover, a rum-length Iimited(RLL)code based on RM code for which the proposed joint decoding method can be applied is also investgated.
