Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An equalizing pulse technique has been proposed for reducing the false contours which appear on moving images on PDPs. This technique however is applicable only to one-dimensional directions. In order to apply for expressing TV pictures, the technique is extended so that it can deal with objects moving in arbitrary directions. Here, a virtual pixel technique, developed previously, is adopted for signal processing. The technique selects active sub-fields considering the motion vectors of each picture element. By the use of the two-dimensional equalizing pulse technique, false contouring can be suppressed. Also MTF, namely quality of high resolution images, can be improved.
