| Abstract(in English) | The Workshop on FPD Materials and Components of this year featured displays for mobile systems. Submitted papers counted up to 52 including late-news papers. Audience was more than 200 in most sessions. Almost all the papers were related to LCDs. The fields of the papers spread wide range of the materials and components, namely, substrates, polarizers, retardation films, color filters, photo-spacers, alignment films, lamps, light-guide plates, diffusers, reflectors, touch screens, mounting materials, evaluation technologies, and equipment. As a trend, papers are getting dealing with the studies in view of total design of the display systems, not just pursuit of the basic performance of the materials. |
