Abstract(in English) Blue emitting Eu^<2+> doped CaAl_2O_4 phosphor thin films were obtained by pulsed laser deposition technique and post-annealing. As-grown films were amorphos and showed weak red photoluminescence(PL)due to the trivalent Eu ion. By annealing in reducing atmosphere(N_2/H_2:2% mixed gas)at 950℃ for 3 hours, the film was crystalized and showed the PL emission band peaking at about 447nm, which is originated from the 4f^65d to 4f^7 transiton of the divalent Eu ion.
