Luminescent properties of CaMgSi_2O_6:Eu^<2+> phosphors for VUV excitation

Abstract(in English) We have studied luminescent properties of CaMgSi_2O_6:Eu^<2+>(CMS:Eu^<2+>)showing a blue emission as a new phosphor for vacuum-ultraviolet excitation. PL emission intensity of CMS:Eu^<2+> under 147 nm excitation increases as source SiO_2 content increases. The peak intensity of CMS:Eu^<2+> reaches about 74% of that of BaMgAl_<10>O_<17>:Eu^<2+>(BAM:Eu^<2+>) for 147 nm excitation. The synthesized CMS:Eu^<2+> phosphor shows a good stability of luminescence intensity in comparison with BAM:Eu^<2+> for baking in air at 600℃ for 1 hour. The initial luminance of prepared CMS:Eu^<2+> test panel is about 56% of that of BAM:Eu^<2+>. The peak intensity of luminescence spectrum of CMS:Eu^<2+> test panel is comparable compared with that of BAM:Eu^<2+>.
