Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Directive color reflection was introduced to implement a reflective LCD with display qualities of brightness higher than 60%, contrast larger than 15, and the color gamut as wide as those of transmissive color LCDs. The LCD cell using a directive reflection film and a single polarizer film was fabricated and evaluated to show that these target values were satisfied in 8-color-bar display. There were little color sifts within a directive angle, although interference was employed to display color.
