Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a non-destructive high-speed image sensor and its application to an on sensor motion vector estimation. The non-destructive high-speed sensor captures high-speed intermediate pictures and fully accumulated video-rate pictures. The operation of the non-destructive high-speed image sensor is confirmed by experiments on the prototype of the sensor. The proposed on-sensor motion vector estimation is using high-speed pcitures. It greatly reduces the computational complexity of conventional motoin vector estimation. For ±30 search range in video-rate pictures, the computational complexity can be reduced by a factor of 1/13. Although the proposed method uses high-speed pictures. the power reduction in the overall motion estimation system can be achieved.
