Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Various methods for disparity estimation are proposed. In this report, the disparity is estimated on the basis of differential stereo vision system in sub-pixel order. Since the differential method can estimate slight differences between the images, we adopt a pyramidal decomposition of images accordingly. The size and the shape of windows for calculating the disparities are changed according to disparity information in the lower pyramid, so that we can estimate the disparities accurately even if a sudden change of disparities exists. With a relaxation process for correcting imprecise disparities using the neighborhood information, the disparities can be obtain accurately even if in unreliable regions.
