Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We developed an actual phosphor for Xe discharge fluorescent lamps as a lighting source for information tools. A Xe discharge fluorescent lamp emits visible lights from phosphors excited by vacuum ultra-violet radiated from xenon excimer instead of mercury. PDP phosphors have been used for Xe discharge fluorescent lamps. We investigated the excitation properties of phosphors and the relations between phosphor composition and its thermal quenching and subsequently developed a phosphor for Xe discharge fluorescent lamps having high luminance and stability.
