Abstract(in English) Recently, various LCD modes have been proposed to enhance the viewing angle of LCDs. However, in order to realize a wide viewing angle and high contrast ratio in all directions, a retardation film and polarizer with wide viewing angle and high achromaticity are required. In this paper, we investigated the design rules of wide viewing angle retardation film and polarizer with high achromaticity.
