Abstract(in English) An advanced driving method, called MPD (Mega Pixel Driving), and a new pixel structure, called A-IPS (Advanced In-Plane-Switching), have been developed. MPD combines dual-line driving and a design of optimized storage capacitor for each pixel. A-IPS is a zigzag shaped pixel that consists of zigzag shaped source line, common and pixel electrodes and color filter. Using these technologies, a 23-inch diagonal in-plane-switching mode TFT-LCD has developed. This TFT-LCD demonstrates good uniformity by MPD and higher luminance (125%) than conventional IPS mode LCD by A-IPS structure.
