Improvement of luminescent properties in alkali metal co-doped SrS:Ce blue emitting EL Phosphors

Abstract(in English) To improve both blue purity and luminescent efficiency of SrS:Ce EL phosphors, alkali metal (Li, Na, K, Rb) doped SrS:Ce powders have been investigated. It has been found that the alkali metals promote a grain reaction, and enable an incorporation of Ce into SrS lattice even in a low firing temperature range of 600-900℃. Rb deped SrS:Ce powders show the highest photoluminescent intensity, which is 100 times stronger than that of alkali-metal-undoped SrS:Ce powders.
