Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The electron field emission properties of the polycrystalline diamond films in various sizes(10-10^3 nm)prepared from hydrocarbon precursor by chemical vapor deposition were studied. The nanocrystalline diamond films exhibit efficient electron field emission, e. g. low threshold emission field, high emission current density and high emission luminance spots density on the anode. The electron field emission properties of the films depending on the film structures, thickness, grain size and sp^3/sp^2 phases, were compared. The electron emission stability and emission site density of the diamond film as an emitter was discussed for practical application of flat panel display.
