Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A liquid crystal color shutter for field sequential type high resolution CRT monitor was produced by combining color polarizers with ferroelectric liquid crystal polymer(FLCP) panels using plastic film substrates. For producing the color shutter, the optical properties of materials in FLCP panels were optimized. The FLCP panels showed high contrast ratio, good responsibility and high bending toughness. This color shutter was attached to monochromatic P45 CRT. This color monitor showed higher resolution than a usual color CRT on the market. The chromaticity was the same.
