Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we derived an equation to determine the electric potential which develops due to the electrostatic latent image on the surface of a photosensitive drum, using a method in which the developing zone surrounded by two cylinders is approximated by four layers of non-parallel flat plates. Then, using this equation, we determined the relationship between the angles of the plates and the electric potential. The electric potential decreased with increasing angles ; and it increased with increasing drum-sleeve(DS)distance. In addition, when the DS distance was long, the influence of the angle was small. The relationship between the contrast potential and the angle did not differ significantly from that observed in the case of parallel flat plates. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that we can obtain the optimal DS distance by changing the ratio of dielectric constant of the photosensitive drum to the developer.
