Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Scattering characteristics of reflective LCDs have important effects on their comfortable viewing. By subjective evaluations based on paired comparison, we quantified the comfortable viewing of reflectors, and correlated it with their scattering cahracteristics. It was found that the comfortable viewing is related to the reflectivity within a certain range of scattering angle. It was also found that the range changes according to illumination conditions. Furthermore, subjective evaluation results were analyzed by factor analysis. A tendency of latent factors which govern the comfortable viewing was clarified.
