Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) TFT-LCD has an advantage owing to few decrease in brightness when interlace drive method is applied. TFT-LCD consists of capacitive device, therefore, its optical response is hold-type, while the response of CRT is impulsive. The slow optical response of liquid crystal and the hold-type response degrade moving-image quality. We have estimated the degradation of interlaced moving-images by using the parameter of optical transition width and frequency response. In conclusion, the transition width by interlace drive is relatively small compared with other intrinsic factors, while the frequency response is relatively worse.
