Investigation of Stacked Phosphor Screen for Projection Tube

Abstract(in English) Phosphors with high luminance and enough durability under the strong electron beam are necessary for phosphor screens in projection tubes. In addition, color reproducibility is also required for the good picture quality. We tried the improvement on the luminescence property by forming phosphor screens with two-layer stacked structure by different phosphors. In this report, the two layers fluorescent screens were produced with two kinds of phosphor, one is excellent in performance with strong electron beam and another is excellent in luminescent color. In these screens, the former phosphor layers were placed to be exposed to the electron beam directly. We examined the luminescence property of the phosphor screens in various layer thickness.
