| 抄録(和) | TFT-LCDなどのホールド型ディスプレイにおける、動画の画質劣化とその改善方法について述べている。LCDでは、各フィールドの表示光は原理的に1フィールド間ほぼ一定の輝度に保たれるが、このホールド型の表示方式が原因で動画表示の際に動きぼけが知覚される。LCDの応答時間だけを改善しても画質改善効果には限界があり、充分な動画の画質を得るためには、表示方式そのものに関わる改善方法が必要である。改善方法には2つのアプローチが考えられる。シャッタ等を用いて表示光のホールド時間を短くする方法と、動き補償を行った倍速表示により、表示光をできるだけ画像の動きに沿った画面位置に配置する方法である。 |
| 抄録(英) | Degradation of picture quality for moving images displayed on hold type displays and the improving method of the degradation are discussed. When moving images are displayed on hold type displays, such as TFT-LCD displays, which sustain light intensity in a field period of video signal, the image quality is degraded, or the images are perceived as blurred. The cause of the degradation is the sustained light. So picture quality improvement cannot be attained only by to fasten transient response time of LCDs. There are two approaches to improve the degradation. One is to shorten the hold time by a shutter etc. The another is double field-rate displaying with motion compensated field interpolation. |
