Study on Hysteresis Properties of Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal Panels by CV measurements

Abstract(in English) Recently there is a larger demand for a rear-projection television that can display images in large scale and high resolution. And hard demands for images of good quality, especially for high brightness, are increasing. We have developed polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) panels with high light efficiency and high brightness. Conventional PDLC panels have a hysteresis of TV (Transmittance-Voltage) curve. To reduce the hysteresis of TV curve is important to put to practical uses in TFT-LCDs. We have develoed a novel method for the hysteresis evalution by CV (Capacitance-Voltage) measuraments. We report a study on hysteresis properties by this novel method.
