Field Emission Devices with Focusing Structures

Abstract(in English) Field emission devices with different focusing structures are simulated. The results show that the coaxial-type structure gives the best focusing effect but with lowest anode current. The ridge-type structure could give the largest anode current but its focusing effect is poor. The coplanar-type structure, in addition to its good focusing effect, have a moderate anode current and the simplest fabrication process. It is concluded that the coplanar-type focusing structure is the best choice for display application.
