Quality of Pictures Reproduced by Dufferent Color Saturation of Primary Colors of a Display

Abstract(in English) In order to establish the evaluation criteria for viewing angle characteristics of an liquid crystal display, influence of color saturation of primary colors on picture quality was measured by subjective evaluation. The picture quality was found to decrease monotonously as color saturation became low on every primary color. Especially, the shift of color saturation of blue had the largest influence on picture quality in comparison with changing other primary colors. Moreover, the picture quality was found to decrease significantly when the saturation of three primary colors simultaneously decreased with keeping the color temperature constant at 6500K.
