Abstract(in English) In order to improve microscopic-image display properties of a liquid crystal device, we fabricated a surface-stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystal cell with the optical alignment process using polarized deep ultraviolet excimer light with short wavelength. Using the liquid crystal cell with finely-patterned transparent electrodes, the spatial dispersion of threshold voltage for bistable switching became small without microscopic alignment defects, and the high limiting resolution of over 400 line pairs/mm was recognized.
