Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) High density recording on a thermally addressable smectic A liquid crystal panel was performed by using an over-write technique. By optimizing the recording conditions, a horizontal spatial resolution as high as 333 line-pairs/mm was obtained at a diffraction efficiency of 1%. When the spatial resolution was less than 62.5lp/mm, the diffraction efficiency was 18%.
