Electro-Optical Characteristics of Conjugated Polymer Organic Electroluminescent Devices

Abstract(in English) Poly(3-dodecylthiophene)(PAT12)and Poly(3-hexyloxythiophene)(PHOT)were synthesized as conjugated polymer materials for organic EL devices. We investigated the ajustment of HOMO level varied by adding different substitutions. HOMO level of PHOT was higher than PAT12 by 0.6eV because of adding the electron donating alkoxy chain. Because the device utilized PHOT as a emission layer didn't emit, PHOT was unsuitable for EL material. From the measuremed results of V-I and V-L chatacteristics of devices which were fabricated by deposition of TPD and Alq3 on conjugated polymer films, it is clarified that PHOT is more effective as hole injecting layer than PAT12.
