Abstract(in English) Frequency characteristics in smectic liquid crystal light modulator(SLCLM)with high frequency operation(several MHz)and low driving voltage(±5V)are investigated.After discussing the necessar y condition for high frequency operation and good linearity,good AC voltage versus output power characteristics without hysteresis and high frequency characteristics operated at 1.3MHz have been shown experimentally.Optical transmission experiment of full-color NTSC video signal has attained a success for the first time.
