Abstract(in English) Display color qualities of reflective type LCDs with a polarizer are strongly influenced by variations of optical retardation of LC layer and refractive index dispersion of a retardation film. In this paper, we report that coloration do not occur both white and black state in case of normally white type display mode with a polarizer by selecting the retardation of the LC layer and the refractive index dispersion of the retardation film.
