Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As for the liquid crystal display which has the advantage of thickness, light weight and low consumption electric power compact size, moreover, is expected. We grappled from the mounting side, and developed the COG method which ACF (Anisotropic Conductive Film) was used for, and it was put to practical use. Not only the subject of the usual TAB method was solved but also the compact LCD module that came to mention above was realized. And building of the production line that reduced switching loss to a minimum was made possible by the quality improvement such as indication characteristic and connection reliability, by the simplification of the liquid crystal panel inspection process and by standardization of the driving LSI, and So on. This paper describes device and process technology of the TFT-LCDs by the COG method adopted widely around for the AV machine.
