Abstract(in English) A reflective light valve was fabricated to realize a small sized and high lumen output projector. Appropriate light valve size having high efficiency for scattering was derived by a calculation. Both pixel array and peripheral drivers were integrated by low temperature poly-Si TFTs on a glass substrate to get a 2 inches diagonal XGA light valve. An opaque organic film was used as a planarization layer and also as a light shield layer. High density screen image was obtained by 40μm pitch pixels.
