Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Polymer Cell Wall Type Liquid Crystal (PCW-LC) light shutter has been developed for liquid crystal-polymer complexes (LCPCs), utilizing the light scattering of cholesteric focal conic texture. This type of liquid crystal light shutter is an energy saving type because of non-polarizer usage. When this type of light shutter is utilized for reflection type liquid crystal display, the saving of energy will be expected to become great. At first, a dot-matrix type device of black and white display has been constructed.
