Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The frequency dependent dielectric behavior of a liquid crystal material (5CB) in a low frequency range is analyzed in terms of space charge polarization. In a condition that the electrostatic interaction among the ions can be neglected, the dielectric constant and the dielectric loss factor are considered to be given as the sum of a contribution from each ion kind if the dielectric contains plural kinds of ions. We evaluated the anomalous dielectric behaviors of 5CB due to the ions in a low frequency range separating the observed values into the contributions from plural kinds of ions. As the result it is found that the theoretically calculated curves can successfully trace the observed values by introducing four kinds of ions.
