Abstract(in English) A new drive scheme for three-electrode, surface discharge AC-PDPs has been developed. The scheme enables us to reduce the number of scan drivers from 480 to 44, an order of magnitude reduction, for the case of NTSC expression. Images with 256 gray levels have successfully been displayed using the scheme in a 16×48-cell region at an NTSC rate.
