Study on Low Voltage Cathodoluminescence and Layer Thickness of Conducting-Layer-Coated Phosphors

Abstract(in English) Low voltage cathodoluminescent properties of the CRT phosphors (ZnS:Ag, Cl, ZnS:Cu, Al, and Y_2O_2S:Eu) coated with In_2O_3 conducting layer using In[OCH(CH_3)_2]_3 by the sol-gel method were investigated. It was found that the cathodoluminescent properties were changed extremely according to the variation of the coating thickness. In proportion as the In[OCH(CH_3)_2]_3 increase, the resistivity of the coated phosphor was decreased significantly. The charging-up on the phosphor surface irradiated by low acceleration voltage is suppressed to some extent. The deterioration of the coated phosphors is suppressed by further applying high vacuum. The number of incident electrons to the sample was evaluated as about 50% of that to metal electrode.
